Meet Rob
Growing up in Sydney, Australia I can fondly remember getting my first set of wheels. Sure, I was 4 or maybe 5 and it was a bicycle, but it was also freedom. By the time I was of driving age, I'd already enjoyed a spirited drive around the neighborhood in a friend's Mini Clubman Estate and had long been 'air-drying' my parents' cars after the weekly wash. Fair's fair!
I attended the University of Sydney, leaving with a Master's Degree in International Politics before those itchy feet of mine had me setting off around the world in search of adventure. Through good fortune, a modicum of talent, and a generous helping of self-confidence, I became a chef aboard a number of private yachts, briefly sailing the seven seas, before meeting the love of my life, Amy. On New Year’s Eve. In the French Alps. Cool story. All true.
New York was always calling. My earlier visit in the early '90s left a lasting impression on me: our chosen taxi driver, having had his fill of traffic congestion in midtown, opted instead to drive down the sidewalk when he got stuck behind a (parked) car. Long story. But I knew this was the place for me.
Fast forward and Amy and I are happily married (townhouse, mortgage, two cats, a dog, and a Porsche) and I'm a licensed associate real estate broker at Compass, where I am, essentially a lifestyle consultant. I aim to make your life more pleasant in as much as I am able to, by guiding you through the ever-changing NYC real estate landscape.
So cars. What's that about? That’s a story for another day. Maybe over coffee? At the end of the day it's always been about freedom, and always will be.
So get out and drive!
